New lunch sketches
New stuff from the Moleskine. Did this one at lunch today and the other after the vision verse show.

Finally finished something Friday.
Holy shit, I finally have a “Finshed” post to go along with the dozens of “In Progress” posts I make. I’m pretty proud of this one.
Watercolor, ink, charcoal, chalk, amd Posca Paint pens on tan Rives BFK. I think I did an OK job capturing my favorite pretty girl here. =]

When it rains, it pours…
Oh my, two new posts in two days! What are the chances of this happening again? (not good.)
Here are some new scans from my current 3×5″ moleskine, the poor thing fell out of my pocket Christmas eve and was drizzled upon for about ten hours before I found it in the driveway Chrismas Day. HOORAY FOR THE HOLIDAYS! =\
Luckily the damage wasnt’ as bad as I would have thought other than some slight rippling of the pages. A bit of Photoshop trickery was used in getting some of the imperfections those waves caused during scanning.

Old and new.
Happy Holidays everyone. Here are two drawings from my last sketchbook that I’m just getting around to scanning, and one recently finished from my current book.
Enjoy.
Wish You Luck
Hey! A new post! And not just sketchbook junk either! This is watercolor, gouache and some Farber Castell markers thrown in for good measure. Click to see it a bit better.
Watercolor Sketchbook Extravaganza
Ok, extravaganza might be a slight exaggeration but it is a pretty fun word to use. These paintings are from the last couple of weeks and are spread out between three different sketchbooks. I’ve taken to doing random splashes of watercolors and gouache in my sketchbook pages to give myself something a little more interesting to work on rather than plain paper all the time. Some of these are the results.
I’m about to start a new body of work, and I think these little pieces are indicating the direction I want to go. The direction isn’t set in stone, but I’m getting excited regardless. I’d like to throw out a big Thank You to everyone who has posed, or has agreed to pose in the near future for reference photos. I can’t tell you how helpful it is!
A little old, a little new…
Hello all, Not quite so long a gap here as usual. I’m putting up a mix of stuff here. Some of it is from before the last post, some new, and the big finished piece was started over 6 months ago only to be picked up last Thursday and finished over the weekend. This is in addition some freelance work I’m doing as well, so I have been keeping busy. I’d love to hear any comments, so fire away if you have any.
This next one is a big finished piece. I had lots of fun with this, especially the brain pattern in the trees in the background.
and as an added bonus, I’m adding in a portrait of yours truly done by the talented Johnny Segura. Check out his work here: http://auronasia.deviantart.com/
More sketches from the big SB.
Here’s more proof that I haven’t been totally lazy over that long gap in posts.
Some of these were made from reference photos provided the Octolady herself, Rupa dasGupta. If you haven’t seen her stuff yet go check it out immediately. http://anoctopusaday.tumblr.com/
New ink
Sorry I’ve been slacking with the updates. I’ve come into a couple different freelance jobs in my extra time. This means something has to give, and time spent scanning and updating blogs is gonna go before making new art does, so bear with me. =)
I have a lot of sketchbook work to put up, but until I can get it scanned, I will throw up this rather large ink piece I just finished. Spent about 10 hours on it. 13 x 19, ink on paper.
I’ve started messing around with some colors in photoshop, but I don’t know if that will go anywhere, we’ll see.
